Synchronicity

Only synchronicity will save the planet.

The word synchronicity is a word created by the great psychologist, scientist, and astrology student Carl Gustaf Jung.  During the first 60 years of the last century Jung challenged many fundamentals upon which the ‘new science’ of unfeeling logic and cold reason were based.

Synchronicity is the experience of two or more events which occur together in a meaningful manner even though they are causally unrelated. To count as synchronicity, the events should be unlikely to occur together by chance, but instead, as if by magic.

We have all experienced that eerie feeling of for example, thinking or speaking about someone, when out of the blue they phone us, or we unexpected meet them.

Today, for some obscure reason I accidently opened a remote reference on the BBC internet news site.  Upon opening the pages it revealed something which has occupied my thoughts over past months.  It was an interview of Professor James Lovelock, by John Humphries of Radio 4’s ‘Today’ programme.  This was just another piece of an incredible jigsaw which is building in my life.  The individual pieces have come from literally all over the world, each one has its own story.  Unerringly they fit together to reiterate precisely the same story told by each individual piece.

Professor Lovelock who is now in his nineties, is the scientist who devised the ‘Gaia’ theory for our planet.  That is, of Earth being a single living organism which adapts itself in order to survive, as indeed it has for billions of years.  Of course occupants of this planet have not always been so adaptable.  The Dodo is one legendary example.

Clearly  this planet does not exist in isolation; it is part of the Cosmos, formed by the various galaxies and beyond, all of which play their part in making the whole gismo work.  The same as you and I are just one of the almost 80 billion humans who play a small part in making this planet work.

While Gaia is simply a defining (but limiting) label, the concept has existed for many thousands of years for us human beings.  I think it would be naive to believe that the concept actually needs human animals in order to continue.

Over 5000 years ago in Mesopotamia (now Iraq), civilisation was quite advanced.  Science then, as it does now, observed events and the patterns which thereby allows some form of prediction.  In a world which had boundaries limited by the range of camel transport, the major study was of the sky; and in it the changes which matched the climatic seasons.  From this evolved the first calendar, and with it, planning based upon prediction.  Further detailed study enabled more accurate prediction.  Those capable of such higher learning were deemed ‘Wise Men’.  With such study came the realisation and recognition that everything was part of a single great ‘whole’ over which man had no control.  That it all came together and worked was indeed a ‘miracle’, it was truly the ‘magick’ of the Cosmos.  Those wise men openly respected that magick and miracles were indeed fundamental to the world.  They had not heard the word synchronicity, but they understood the concept and indeed the source.  They bowed down to the heavens in reverence to the great architect of it all.

Over time charlatans have in their search for power and wealth attempted to take the magick and miracles into their own possession; claiming to be the disciples and spokesmen for the said architect.  Religion came to supplant faith.  They and their ambitious empires have seen rise and fall, just like every great national empire has risen to eventually fall.  The Cosmos accepts no broach of its balance, and so provides, by magick, the necessary correction.  Still that is so.

Professor Lovelock truly is a wise man.  A scientist who clarifies that while scientists and politicians may smugly think they have the answers, and can therefore save the planet, only the planet itself can implement the saving.  An incredibly clear thinker, he confirms that scientists today have been seduced by their own self importance and greed.  Modern science has created an empire which become the latest ‘new religion’.  Most of western society now believes that science can provide all the answers and solutions, and that ‘faith’ of any kind or in any thing has no value.  A clear example is the rise and expansion of every sort of medicine and treatment, while this is matched by the demise of faith and hope.

The Cosmos delivers in enigmatic ways.  Two examples are films, and although both are exciting ‘shoot-em-up’ entertainment, each carries a clear message.  While not by any means a film buff, I was recently treated to a viewing of ‘Avatar’, which I believe has won accolade and awards for its 3D affects and animation;  and rightly so, it was breathtaking.  But this was a film for children.  It has an incredibly powerful message which shows them that we adults are currently getting it badly wrong.  It is a message which dramatically shows what belief and faith are about, and although in cartoon style, how the earth can survive.

When I first saw ‘Star Wars’ on the big screen I rejoiced.  Cowboys and Indians in space, where the goodies defeat the baddies; good triumphs over evil!  I feel that Professor Lovelock may have seen Star Wars because he seems to echo the famous words of the ancient Obi-Wan-Knobe to his nephew :- ‘Have faith Luke, put your shield down and let the force  guide you’.

I close with the trailer from Star Wars……

For over a thousand generations
the Jedi Knights were the guardians of
peace and justice in the Old Republic.
Before the dark times
Before the Empire….

So…….   Let the Force guide you, because only the Force can save the world.

Synchronicity Rules OK? | Ibiza holidays blog

[…] Synchronicity is when ‘one of those happening’ startles us.  Things come together out of the blue….  Just too much of a coincidence…. Spooky!  But it’s just about the only thing that really does have the ability to save our planet.  Cynical?  Go to   https://ibizaastrologer.wordpress.com/synchronicity/ […]
