Ibiza Astroblog February 2012

6 02 2012

Welcome to February, the month when Neptune enters Pisces, which it rules jointly with Jupiter.  Pisces, the two fishes swimming in opposite directions.  Ambivalent, capable of seeing both sides of any story, and now host to Neptune, who fogs, muddles and dissolves.  In all the darkness of deep Neptune, amidst the swirling waters or fog, the old order is being dissolved, and a new order mystically appears.  This is  global order change, but like any fog it pervades everywhere, so think local too…. but slow….. until Neptune first moves on to Aries in 2024.  The fog is like a dream – an eerie silent like transformation, but dreams can be nightmares for some, and so it will be for fourteen years.  Dreams will turn to nightmares, and nightmares will evolve into dreams.  Indeed – The times they are a changin’…….  Bob Dylan wrote that when Neptune as in another water sign, Scorpio.  Deep, intense Scorpio, with a sting in its tail.  But Pisces slowly pulls you down to the very depths of the oceans to the dark and unknown….. slowly drowning old ideas and moving to a swirling new unknown which we may never ever really get a firm hand on.  Almost as if an endorsement of the move, the Sun moves into Pisces on the 18th.  This month…… think Pisces….. keep thinking Pisces and keep on thinking Pisces.!

And now on to the day to day transits:

01 Feb 2012 to 02 Feb 2012 Venus Opposition Mars: Sometimes when desire is there, opportunity or energy is not, and vice versa. People chase what they want, and whe , so don’t play the game. Say yes or no, then go for it.

03 Feb 2012 to 30 Mar 2025 Neptune Enters Pisces:Spiritual revival will be just one hallmark of the next fourteen years, as will a general  tendency for those who pretend to it not give to those who actually do. Flights of romanticism are daily fare, even to those whose life is not romantic in the least. When there is nothing else, there is always a dream, a pure dream, waiting just beyond.

06 Feb 2012 to 08 Feb 2012 Mercury Conjunction Sun: High mental energy burns hot, a real brain boiler. The trick is to keep up with everyone without missing a stitch or dropping the ball. Great ideas abound, but don’t buy everything you see until you give it a second, cooler look. Everyone can be too close to the subject to realize that what recommends it is only the heat of the moment.

07 Feb 2012 to 25 Jun 2012 Saturn Stationary Retrograde:  The old stern schoolmaster stops and looks over his shoulder.  All is not as it it should be; time to go back and see that its re-done properly.  If it is, all will be well, if not….. let’s just not go there.

07 Feb 2012 to 08 Feb 2012 Moon Opposition Sun: Full Moon brings fruition, but also high emotional tides; what you do now may turn out to have been overdone when you look back on it. Deals sealed now may swing erratically later on, but if kept under control will be fat and fruitful. This is the time for plucking the fruit from the tree, not planting one.

08 Feb 2012 to 05 Mar 2012 Venus Enters Aries: Passions run high for the next few weeks, with flashes of intense desire suddenly trailing off into satiation or ennui. So if you’re looking for intensity, now’s the time to jump into the pool – but commitment after you’re there may be hard to hold on to. Hunger pangs, once fed, lose their urgency.

09 Feb 2012 to 11 Feb 2012 Venus Conjunction Uranus: Original tastes and sudden desires decorate the day, marking a change of pace for anyone with an adventurous heart. Eschew the ordinary and go for something off the wall, not off the shelf. Don’t knock it if you haven’t tried it. New sensations will be a major focus of startups, leaders in a new sensibility.

13 Feb 2012 to 14 Feb 2012 Mercury Trine Saturn: Steady focus and clear, reductive thinking get reliable results that inspire confidence in others, particularly those on the conservative side. Keep your eye on long-term operations and slow but steady development. Think big but not fast, what is begun now is for posterity, and that’s forever, so you’ve got time.

14 Feb 2012 to 02 Mar 2012 Mercury Enters Pisces: Putting the right phrase to the task is not the focus for the next few weeks – so if you’re at a loss for words, join the party. But words aren’t everything, and those slippery concepts that emerge right now can yet be pounced upon when the time is right, like a cat on a mouse, and nailed to the ground. Just mind your mind in the meantime.

13 Feb 2012 to 14 Feb 2012 Mercury Conjunction Neptune: A mist upon the mind makes ordinary clarity just history for the time being, but the numinous clarity of dreams is at your beck and call. If you can envision it, you can express it, so keep a journal by your bedside. Don’t expect things to make sense right away, but in retrospect it will shine like a firefly in the dark.

14 Feb 2012 to 16 Feb 2012 Venus Square Pluto: Strong-arm tactics rarely achieve inner goals or fulfil long-term needs and desires, but that wisdom may be lost on a lot of people right now. Pushing and shoving can be the order of the day, with increasing desperation and diminishing returns. If you see a vicious circle developing, jump out of the spiral ASAP.

16 Feb 2012 to 17 Feb 2012 Mercury Sextile Jupiter: Ideas that were once only on the drawing board wind up panning out seamlessly, and you might look to how that happened as a model for future operations. The chances are you didn’t even notice, having your mind a step ahead already. Undertakings begun now have an easy future with continuing creativity assured.

18 Feb 2012 to 19 Feb 2012 Mercury Sextile Pluto: Tuning in to the Force can be easier than you think — you might be doing it right now. When you work in sure knowledge, it works through you. Thus, what you take for granted is your very support structure. Foundations laid now will have that subtle support that protects without any armour at all.

19 Feb 2012 to 20 Mar 2012 Sun Enters Pisces: This must be “growing awareness month,” starting at zero for most, so if the general atmosphere is clueless, join right in. It’s all about feeling your way, with a lot of counterfeit options crowding around the ultimately real path ahead. Follow your true feelings (yours, not others’), once you’ve confirmed them a couple of times.

21 Feb 2012 to 22 Feb 2012 Moon Conjunction Sun: New Moon is the very time for giving up the old and ringing in the new, re-bundling your energies into another package. Commitments made now are intense, all-eggs-in-one-basket, but give them time to develop and to get their bearings. Time for laying cornerstones, the walls and rafters come later.

23 Feb 2012 to 23 Feb 2012 Mercury Opposition Mars: Sputtering short circuits of the mind appear around you as thinking interferes with action and vice versa. It can be highly stimulating or highly annoying, depending on where it happens. Great ideas lose their steam followed by energy surges with no place to go. Pull them both together and you’ll be back in gear.

Well, I did say that February would be an interesting month.

I suppose it started a bit early with the sudden demise of Spanair.  Sad, but no surprise, considering all the life-support cash they were receiving from the government.  They were the third airline to fall in 2012, and since Spanair died, the Hungarian national airline has fallen too.  But some will thrive where others die.  Iberia it is reported has recently been simulator training some of it’s pilots on planes it does not use….. But which Spanair did!  Iberia were ahead of the game.  Prediction anyone, that Iberia will pick up a set of aeroplanes cheap?  More Pluto in Capricorn.  Flawed structures collapsing.

Two biggish earthquakes rocked the planet during the week.  One in Vanuatu, the other off the coast of Vancouver.  Just a little cage rattling by the planet.

An interesting forecast during the week came from the world renowned Boston Consulting Group (BCG) who were commissioned by Google to look at the development of the ‘internet based economy’.  In the report, they predict that the value of the web economy will double by 2016. And that’s just four years away. Many current businesses will not survive.  Many new businesses will take their place.  Uranus in Aries in action.

Uranus in Aries again in Syria – plus Neptune in Pisces.  Another regime on the brink….. and the last two big ones supporting it.  Russia and China vetoed the UN resolution to bring a halt to the government slaughter of protesters. They both have skeletons in their cupboards, China’s invasion and oppression of Tibet for example has brought worldwide protest and support for the Dali Lama.  Russia this week has more protests against rigged ‘elections’.  Such flawed structures can only fail.  Keep watching. And the ongoing Leveson enquiry?  Oh yes, that still rumbles, as the media crumbles.

Oh… almost forgot…. To quote another astrologer…. I went to a riot and a football match broke out!  Egypt – Uranus in Aries.

The New Moon on the 21st is in Pisces,   Moon conjunct the Sun, so we are in darkness – termed the ‘dark of the Moon’.  This is a time when we can connect with the ‘other world’ of our unconscious both personal and the ‘collective unconscious’ that Jung described.  In close conjunction to Sun and Moon is Neptune – modern ruler of Pisces, and described as the Great Dissolver.  Close conjunct too is Chiron, the Wounder, Healer and the Teacher.  My feeling is that following so close to the entry of Neptune into Pisces, this particular New Moon will have an unusually strong effect on us all.  This is Neptune in Pisces’ first New Moon and I think with such a powerful stellium, Neptune will make it a party which runs and runs.

On with the daily transits then, but I expect I’ll be back next week with an update on what’s happening.  “As above, so below”; harmony is the first great law of nature; the earth simply reflects the heavens.

And that’s it for February, except to point out that’s it’s a leap year, so we have a February 29th, that special day when tradition is inverted and a woman may ask for a man’s hand in marriage.  Remember that marriages are made in heaven…. But so too are thunder and lightning!

May the Cosmos bless you,
